We thought we’d create the opportunity for artists of all kinds (musicians, painters, craftspeople, writers, filmakers…) to get together to meet and learn about each others work, share experiences and ideas and generally socialise.
The forums are open to everyone, not just visual artists so if you know someone who might be interested in coming along please pass on the invitation.
We’d like to use the forum as a platform that generates artistic activity, as well as creating a support network for professional development. This could take the format of workshops, group crits, talks, trips to exhibitions etc. - the direction the forums take is entirely up to you.
We would also like to open the invitation out to galleries as an opportunity to connect with other artists, and to discuss how C-Art can be developed to be of benefit to individual businesses and organisations.
At the first YAK YAK we will be able to update you on the C-Art programme developments (as well as bringing you up to date on some great opportunities for artists that we are developing).
The get together will be held in our SHOWCASE space in Penrith 2nd February, 6 – 8pm– there will be some wine and nibbles and a great new exhibition of work by Heather James ahead of her forthcoming show at Brantwood. For directions to SHOWCASE click here
