Our next informal meeting and get-together will be next Wednesday, 1st February - 7.30pm at Peter Simpson's, 4 Carleton Terrace, Penrith. All members and interested people are welcome. If you haven't been before please ask for directions!
At our last meeting we chose some projects to work on this year:

Projects for 2017

Plastics and packaging

Trying to get local shops to provide paper bags instead of plastic bags, eg for fruit and veg, and in general to reduce the amount of plastic that they pack foods in.

Energy saving

Trying to persuade the Highways Department to reduce the hours of the traffic lights at the M6 junction 40 and Kemplay Bank roundabouts.

Campaigning

Meeting with Rory Stewart to discuss packaging, to show support for the government’s plans to outlaw the use of micro-beads in cosmetic products, and to ask him how the government plans to achieve their obligations arising from the COP21 agreement.

Calculating our own carbon footprints and encouraging others to do so.

Local transport links

Working with the group reacting to the cuts in bus services in the Eden valley.

Interested in any of these?

Please come along to our next meeting to help plan how to make them happen!
