How to use the web site
If you have any difficulty using the web site or any suggestions, please contact us.
The site aims to be standard compliant and has various accessibility keyboard shortcuts. Again, let us know if anything does not work well for you.
What's on the site?
There's information about our activities and general information about transition towns, in these forms:
- pages of information
- event listings
- blog posts
- forum discussions
Finding information
The first way to find information is to use the menu at the top. Second, use the search box to find specific information.
On the home page there are these boxes in the sidebar on the left:
- Quick links to the pages about each main Action Group and Project
- A list of forthcoming events
- A list of recent content, ie new or changed items on the site
Each item of content on the site can be given a topic tag to indicate what category it is about, eg which Action Group or Project. You can click on the Tag at the bottom of each page to see other information with that tag. Similarly, on all pages apart from the home page, the sidebar contains topic tag links.
Sharing
If you see something of interest on the site, why not tell others by clicking on the ShareThis link at the bottom of most pages. You can email, tweet, post to Facebook - and many other options.
Registering
Your browser needs cookies enabled to register and login at the site.
You can create a new account directly at the site. Alternatively you can register and login using your Facebook account.
You will receive a verification email when you register. Please click on the link in that email to complete your registration.
Who can do what
Any user of the site can post a comment, where this option is provided. Comments are checked/moderated before posting - please be patient.
Once you are a registered user at the site, you can post a new forum topic - again such posts are moderated.
If you wish to list an event, please register then contact us (web site feedback) to receive the appropriate permission.
If you are a PACT member and wish to become an editor to update main web site content, eg to write a blog or update your action group pages, again - contact us.
