Penrith Remembers 1914 - 1918

Penrith and District during WW1

In his second of two talks Richard Preston, Historian and Western Front Association Member will address "No food No War". Come along and hear of the demand for more home grown food and the response of local farmers in spite of the problems. Submarine warfare greatly affected the supply of food; hear of how the government enforced its will to feed the nation. No matter what problems existed, farmers also wanted “to do their bit”.

£5 - 50% to a military charity
