One million climate jobs: for a future that doesn’t cost the earth.
We are extremely lucky to welcome Suzanne Jeffery to Cumbria to speak at this event. Suzanne is the Vice Chair of Campaign against Climate Change, chairs their national Trade Union group and brings a lifetime of targeted campaigning experience.
The evening has a dual purpose:
One Million Climate Jobs Campaign
The event will:
- Summarise the latest climate science with a summary of the IPCC Fifth Assessment Report
- Launch the latest edition of the One Million Climate Jobs booklet which sets out how one million climate jobs are both technically possible and economically desirable
- Provide an opportunity for individuals and trade unions in Cumbria to ask questions about the campaign, sign up and form a plan for local action.
Time to Act!: On Climate Change – mass mobilisation on 7th March 2015, London
The event will:
- Outline the demands of Campaign against Climate Change’s ‘Time to Act!’ campaign.
- Highlight examples of how trade unions and environmental campaigners have combined their strengths and worked side-by-side.
- Build momentum and generate ideas in the run-up to the national climate demo on 7th March 2015
