SUMMARY:The Great Stainton Balsam Bash - Round 2 at Baron's Cross Quarry
DESCRIPTION:Join PACT on Saturday 1st August as we take a second bash at Stainton’s Baron’s Cross Quarry\, to rid it of as much invasive Himalayan Balsam as possible! \n\nWhat to wear: Old clothes are best! We highly recommend long-sleeve tops and trousers\, as you might be pulling out balsam amongst nettles and thistles. Please wear sturdy shoes or wellies\, and bring thick waterproof gardening gloves to protect your hands.\nWhat to bring: A packed lunch\, drinks\, gardening gloves\, and sunscreen or waterproofs just in case.\nAges: All ages are welcome\, although the activity is not very suitable for young children.\nAccessibility: The site is fully accessible by foot\, with uneven ground in places.\nWhere to meet: Please meet at the quarry entrance – what3words ///reduction.decay.ignites . Feel free to attend both parts or just the walk/talk…whatever suits you! \nPart 1: Wildlife Walk with Lucy Lapwing & Cumbria Wildlife Trust \nCold Springs Nature Reserve | 5:00pm – 6:00pm | Meet at the Wildlife Garden off Scaws Drive (What 3 words – ///clubs.lunch.access) | Free\, just turn up!  \nJust two years after its creation\, take a stroll with us around Penrith’s local nature reserve alongside Lucy and Cumbria Wildlife Trust Reserves Manager\, Ami Stidolph.
