I'm afraid not enough of us can make the meeting tonight so it is postponed again.
Can I suggest for now that if anyone has any ideas or comments, they be circulated by email?
My own rough ideas:
- run a 'Bring your own bag' campaign in Penrith encouraging shoppers to take their own bags shopping, with posters in shops and articles and adverts in the paper. This is a watered down version of what we'd originally planned but is achievable within our limited resources.
- write to local food retailers to ask them what they are doing about tackling food waste, how much food waste they produce and what happens to it. Perhaps send a survey to complete?
- find out all battery recycling points in the town and advertise them. Possibly encourage/enable more?
Any other ideas?

Chris reminds us that potential funding of up to £2k for the plastic bag free Penrith campaign might still be available from Vitality of Penrith
