Tackling the climate crisis + promoting Sustainability living in Penrith & Eden

Penrith's Great Big Green Week 2026

Get ready for a week packed fill of community-wide events celebrating climate action, nature, and sustainability

Penrith's Great Big Green Week

6th - 14th June 2026

Great Big Green Week is the UK’s largest annual celebration of everyday action to tackle climate change and protect nature. This June, Penrith is joining the national movement and coming ‘Together for Good’.

What to Expect

Throughout the week, Penrith will host a programme of community-wide events celebrating sustainability and nature. Expect family nature activities, Open Farm Sunday, balsam bashing, the Penrith Repair Café, litter picks, climate conversations and much more to be announced.

We believe that taking action takes many shapes and forms, and we hope that the programme can demonstrate just that. You do not need to be an environmental expert to take part!

Want to get involved?

We believe that climate action and nature is for everyone. We want the whole community to have the opportunity to get involved, whether that be a public event, private activity or showing support with green hearts. Click here to learn more

What is PACT all about?

In a nutshell, we’re here to help everyone in Penrith & Eden to tread a little more lightly on the planet. Our goal is to help tackle the climate crisis and improve our local environment, for the benefit of people and nature.

Penrith Action for Community Transition (PACT) is a local community group that’s been helping to reduce our area’s carbon footprint for over 15 years. We do this by running projects and events to give local people the inspiration and support to take action in their own lives
